FC Helsingør has signed a contract with the experienced striker Jeppe Kjær, who arrives on a free transfer after his contract with Lyngby BK expired in June. The 33-year-old striker joins the club with extensive experience from both the Superliga and the NordicBet League, where he has played over 280 matches for clubs such as Lyngby, Roskilde, HB Køge and AGF, with over 100 goals to his name.

– Chief scout Brian Gellert has long had his eye on the dangerous striker:
It is no secret that we have been looking for offensive reinforcements, and Jeppe has been one of those who was at the top of our list, and has been there for some time, also while he was at Lyngby. When the opportunity arose, we all in the sporting department agreed that we simply had to go for it, and luckily our project prevailed over quite a few other clubs. It is a huge signing for us, as I would go so far as to call Jeppe a “dream player” for FC Helsingør for a long time.

Jeppe Kjær himself is happy with the project he has been presented with in Helsingør:
– FC Helsingør had the best package for me. It was the right setup for me both athletically and privately. It is an ambitious project, where I can remain in a professional setup, with some really fine facilities on the way with the new stadium. At the same time, being a club in Zealand also gives me the opportunity to prioritize some things outside the world of football. I am not 22 years old anymore, so it was important for me to find that balance between football and private life in my next club, and I see FC Helsingør as a perfect match. I have also spoken with Morten (Eskesen, ed.) about the way the club wants to play football, and that is clearly something I can see myself in.

Jeppe Kjær has been given a two-year contract, and joins FCH with immediate effect.
