FC Helsingør has signed a contract until the end of the season with American midfielder Collen Warner.
Collen Warner, who is a defensive midfielder, has played over 170 matches in the top American league (MLS) for clubs such as Montreal Impact, Real Salt Lake, Toronto FC and most recently Minnesota United.
30-year-old Warner arrives on a free transfer, after his contract with Minnesota expired in 2018.
Director Janus Kyhl is pleased to welcome the new player:
– Warner has been training with us for quite some time now. It had been a while since he last played, and we would only bring him in if we were sure that he was in contention for the first-team squad. But his form looks fine, and he has good ball skills.
If I should describe him as a type, he is a hard-working, physically strong defensive midfielder who brings some slightly different qualities than the other midfielders in the squad. He has already settled in well with the squad, and he is a super guy, whom we are happy to have in place at FCH.
Collen Warner himself is also happy that the contract has been signed.
– I have been training for a while, and have got a really good impression of the squad, and of Peter as coach. I think I can contribute with some experience and a bit more physicality, compared to the players we have now. I also try to be a leader on the pitch. Not so much someone who stands and shouts at people, but more the one who leads from the front. I hope to get into action for FC Helsingør as soon as possible.
Collen Warner will wear number 4 in the FC Helsingør shirt.
