FC Helsingør has signed a contract with the 15-year-old Viktor Hammer Thinesen, who primarily plays as a striker.

FC Helsingør’s academy is developing rapidly, and in recent seasons the club has truly begun to see the results of the hard work that all academy players and coaches do every single day. Several young players have come into consideration for the club’s first team; the latest to emerge is Hans Christian “Kritte” Bonnesen, who has started in several of the season’s competitive matches for the senior team. One of the goals is for even more of the club’s youth players to be able to make the step up to the first-team squad, and part of the strategy to achieve this goal is to be able to retain the youth players at the academy.

The head of FCH Academy, Kenneth Rasmussen, explains:
– At FC Helsingør, we have big ambitions, and right now a great deal of our focus is on our first team securing promotion to 1. Division. But the management in both senior and youth also constantly remembers, together, to build on the future and maintain momentum throughout our entire sporting sector and thus also the work with the club’s academy, because we are constantly focused on getting our young players ready for the first team.

– Part of being able to further develop our own players for the first team is retaining the players who have special qualities, and our young striker Viktor Elliott Hammer Thinesen, known simply as “Hammer” in everyday life, has those qualities. That is why we have prioritized signing a youth contract with Hammer as soon as we had the opportunity.

– Hammer came to us as an U13 player from our partner club, Fredensborg B&I, and he has long been in a good development process where he has continuously added new layers to his potential. Like all players, he has both strengths and areas for development, but we especially note that he is curious and wants to learn and improve. His clear strengths lie especially in “Hammer’s” great technical skills and his game intelligence, combined with his ability to get into and capitalize on his goal-scoring chances, make him an exciting attacking talent.

– If Hammer keeps working hard, he can go far with his football, and we look forward to continued cooperation.

Viktor Hammer Thinesen says himself:
– I have chosen to sign a contract with FC Helsingør because I have been here for several years now, and I am incredibly happy to be here. I feel safe and at home here among my teammates and coaches. And not least, I believe that the best thing for my continued development is to stay here at the club, where I am moving up to a very strong U17 squad, and I look forward to being challenged even more.
