FC Helsingør says goodbye at the end of the season to three players whose contracts are expiring. Lucas Haren, David Boysen and veteran Anders Holst are all leaving FC Helsingør this summer.

Sporting director Brian Gellert says of the three:
With David Boysen, the plan all along was that he should come in and stabilize the attack in the short term and be backup for Sebastian Czajkowski and Jeppe Kjær, who have been out injured. David has been very professional during his time here and has fully accepted his role in the squad. David has been good at sharing his experience, and we have been happy to have him.

As for Lucas, we have talked back and forth with him and his agent here in the spring, and Lucas has expressed a wish to move on and try to get a contract abroad or at a higher level. We have been very happy to have Lucas here. He was an important part of our promotion team last year, and he has also played a major role in our fine season in 1. Division. We have agreed that with his contract expiring now, it made sense that he could go out and see whether he can land a contract on a higher shelf.

Also with Anders Holst, this is one of the difficult decisions one sometimes has to make as a club. Holst's achievements speak for themselves: Included in all our promotions and relegations, record holder for appearances and one of the great personalities in FC Helsingør's history. But Anders has reached an age where we have chosen, from a sporting point of view, to bet on younger forces such as Eli, Philip and Tonni in the positions Holst can play. It has not been an easy decision, but that is where we are forced to follow our sporting strategy. Anders will always have his own chapter in the story of FC Helsingør.

Anders Holst himself was clear when we spoke with him:
I knew, of course, that there would come a time after football, which was getting closer all the time but I had hoped it wasn't right now. I would have liked to continue. But I fully understand that FCH as a club wants to make room for the club's younger players. I have enjoyed all the years at FC Helsingør and it has been a huge part of my life, and I will follow the club and the fans in the future.

David Boysen has had a good time at FCH:
I have been happy to be at FC Helsingør. I have worked my way into shape during my time here, and been allowed to play a role both on and off the pitch, where I think I have been able to pass on my knowledge in the dressing room. I have played small 30 matches here, and it has been a while since I could say that. It has been a good time here, and I feel fit for more, so it has been good for me as a player to come here.

Lucas Haren sent a special greeting to FCH's fans:
I have been happy with my time here, and I would like to send a thank you to my teammates and the club for a good time. And I would like to send a special thank you to the fans who have sung my name and have always supported me. That meant a lot.

David Boysen, Lucas Haren and Anders Holst have played respectively 29, 64 and 236 matches for FC Helsingør.
