After 2 seasons at FC Helsingør, the club and Jeppe Kjær have decided to terminate the contract. Jeppe signed with FC Helsingør in July 2019 and has since played 34 matches and scored 28 goals for the club. After 2 years at FC Helsingør, Jeppe Kjær has ended his football career due to his serious knee injury.
“First and foremost, I am of course sad that it is ending now,” Kjær says. “It hurts. I have been really happy with my years in Helsingør, where I have found a really good balance in terms of elite sports and family life, where there has been room for both. I have really appreciated that. So much has happened, both athletically and organizationally, from when I started until now. And at the same time, I don’t quite feel that I managed to finish it completely - and I am really sorry about that.
“At the same time, I would also like to take the opportunity to say thank you to everyone in and around FCH. It is a club and city with huge sporting potential - and with some people internally at the club who are basically good people.”
He ends as the 2. highest-scoring player in FC Helsingør’s history.
“Jeppe is the most professional footballer I have ever worked with, and I wish him all the best with his future. He will always be a winner, no matter which way he goes,” head coach Morten Eskesen says.
“Jeppe has been a big part of the success for FC Helsingør over the last two years,” Sporting Director Brian Gellert says. “34 matches and 28 goals says it all. Besides that, Jeppe has been a top professional player and is a fantastic human being. Always ready to fight for the white and blue colours. He gave everything for this club and will forever be a huge, huge, huge part of the club’s history in the coming years. We are so grateful that we were so lucky to have him for 2 years.
Thank you for your huge contribution to the club and we wish you the best of luck going forward!
“I will of course be following along from the sidelines and look forward to sitting in the stadium in May next year and watching the boys play the promotion match,” Kjær says.
