FC Helsingør says goodbye to goalkeeper Christoffer Monty and striker Nicolas Willumsen, both of whom have had their contracts terminated.
Sporting director Brian Gellert says a few words about the farewell:
– For both players, the situation is that they have been offered the chance to move on to some clubs where there would be a shorter path to playing time, and they themselves wanted to try something new. As a club, we will not stand in the way of that.
After Kevin Stuhr Ellegaard arrived, Christoffer Monty had dropped to third-choice goalkeeper after Kevin and Christoffer Petersen, and that was one step too far down the pecking order for both him and us. He is a great goalkeeping talent, and needs to go somewhere where he is closer to playing regularly, and both he and we agreed on that.
For “Wille” the same applies to some extent: He has been too far from the first team for a longer period, and he wanted to move on to a club where he could play. He has been with us for a number of years now, and has always put in a hard shift both in training and in matches, but he has also reached an age now where he needs to play in order to get better.
– We would like to thank both players for their professional efforts in the FCH shirt and wish them the best of luck in the future
Nicolas Willumsen made 13 official matches for FCH's first team during his three years at the club, Christoffer Monty did not manage to make his debut.
