At the end of this season FC Helsingør say goodbye to captain Nikolaj Hansen, whose contract expires on 30. June 2022.
– Hanne has been one of the biggest reasons that we went from 2. division three years ago to today, where we are a top club in 1. division. He has strong football expertise and his ability to make smart decisions is high. He has often been at the top of various defensive statistics in 1. division. His leadership skills are at a very high level, and as captain he has been the perfect man to gather the squad and guide the dressing room safely through three good years with plenty of success. I will miss him on and off the pitch, says head coach Morten Eskesen.
Captain Nikolaj Hansen has been at FC Helsingør since June 2019 and has played a total of 72 matches.
– I am beyond happy and proud of the time I have been at the club and what we have achieved, but I also feel it is time to pass the baton on. This is the best time to stop now at the end of the season. It is a mutual decision that suits both the club and me well. I am glad to stop at the top while I still have the level, says Nikolaj Hansen.
Nikolaj Hansen plays his last match for the club tomorrow when FC Helsingør host Nykøbing FC at home.
