Sports director Ole Nielsen is leaving FC Helsingør after the board has decided on a restructuring and
abolition of the sports director position.
Director Janus Kyhl thanks Ole Nielsen for his short time in the position and praises the departing sports director. “It is never fun to have to say goodbye to an employee, and I can safely say that Ole Nielsen managed to make a good impression at the club. Ole is a skilled scout with a high level of expertise, which most people in Danish football know, and I am convinced that Ole can develop into a skilled sports director. But unfortunately it will not be with us this time. I would like to thank Ole for his time at FC Helsingør; he has left a good impression at the club,” concludes Janus Kyhl.
Ole Nielsen says: “I am really sad to have to leave FC Helsingør after such a short time, but I fully accept the board’s decision, as it is their club and at present there is no financial basis for my position,” he says and elaborates:
“I said yes to FC Helsingør back then, and especially the squad, the coaching team and the staff. It is a pity that I did not get more time with them and the staff at FCH Talent. It has been four fantastic weeks – and a good time does not return badly. It was a dream to get to live out the role of sports director, and reality lived up to expectations.”
Despite my short time at the club, I have met a lot of good and hardworking people who make a dedicated effort for FCH – volunteers as well as salaried staff – and although I have been dismissed and am sad about it, I wish the best for the club, the city and the people in and around FC Helsingør.
