Today Hvidovre IF visited Helsingør Stadion in the NordicBet League's 4 round. The visitors from Hvidovre got off to the better start and already after 5 minutes of play they took the lead after a breakthrough down FC Helsingør's left side. The cross was played into the box along the ground, where Hvidovre's Tobias Thomsen could place the inside of his foot on it for 0-1. FC Helsingør then gradually took control of possession. After 10 minutes of play, Oliver Drost breaks through on the right side and passes diagonally back to Oliver Kjærgaard, who takes a touch and shoots hard toward the far corner. Unfortunately, the shot goes just wide. After just under half an hour, Nicklas Mouritsen is brought down just outside the box. Liam Jordan takes the free kick, but it is overhit and sails just over the goal. At this stage of the match FC Helsingør are on top and in the 42th minute it becomes truly dangerous. After fine passing play, the ball ends up with Mikkel Knudsen, who sends it in a soft arc over Hvidovre's defense. There Liam Jordan rises and heads the ball nicely toward the opposite corner and only a fine save by Hvidovre's goalkeeper prevents an equalizer, and we go into halftime with the score at 0-1.
From the start of the 2st half, Hvidovre are in possession most, but it is still Oliver Drost who, after an hour of play, gets a fine chance with a header after a cross from Nicklas Mouritsen. A couple of minutes later, things go wrong at the other end. Hvidovre combine well and suddenly Christian Jakobsen is free on the edge of the box and he sends the ball into the top corner with no chance for the debuting FC Helsingør goalkeeper Sayouba Mandé. 0-2 to Hvidovre IF with 25 minutes left of the match. Hvidovre continued and came close again on a counterattack. But the shot was weak and Mandé can easily save for yet another Hvidovre goal. In the 81th minute our new goalkeeper can do nothing, as Andreas Pyndt stands free in the box and takes his chance by firing it in from close range for 0-3. There is not really much more happening in the last 10 minutes of the match and Hvidovre can go home with a 0-3 victory.
In addition to the debut for goalkeeper Sayouba Mandé, there was also a debut for Jakob Vadstrup Larsen, as Frederik Helstrup had to go off with an injury.
The extent of the injury is not yet known.
