Ludvig Carlius is the new man at FC Helsingør.
The midfielder was most recently under contract with Mjällby AIF, which has just finished in 10. place in the Allsvenskan – the top Swedish division.
Due to the football structure in Sweden, however, he has had the opportunity to play for Ängelholms FF in the third tier, where he has played most of his matches over the past year.
He is now the new man on the team sheet in Helsingør, and he is looking forward to new challenges in Denmark.
However, not everything is new for the 22-year-old Swede. During his time as a youth player at Helsingborgs IF, he played alongside Mathias Christensen and had the current head coach in Helsingør, Alvaro Santos, as a youth coach. Therefore, he is also looking forward to getting started and meeting his new teammates.
“I have previously played under Alvaro, so I am very much looking forward to doing it again. I’m just looking forward to getting started again and getting to know the playing style in Denmark better. I have met a number of Danish teams when I was younger, but not at senior level, so it will be exciting to see the difference. It’s my first time abroad, so I’m very excited!”
For the next year and a half, he will therefore have to battle for places in midfield against experienced players such as Ferhan Hasani, Jacob Schoop and, of course, the aforementioned Mathias Christensen.
“I am a versatile player, but I mostly play as a 8 or 10. I am good at driving with the ball and also have a good shot when I get into the box.
Now it’s mostly about getting to know my new teammates better on the pitch, where I just need to go out and show my strengths and qualities, so that we can get some victories when the season starts up again.”
The contract runs until 30/6-2025.
