FC Helsingør has reached an agreement with Kolding IF's top scorer Oliver Drost, who will join FC Helsingør's squad when the current season is over. Drost, who turned 25 in November, is no stranger to Helsingør, as he has played youth football at both Snekkersten and FC Helsingør.
Since then, he has gained experience in both 2. Division and 1. Division, as well as from the Superliga at AC Horsens, where some may remember that he scored against FC Helsingør in the 0-2 defeat in Horsens.
Sports director Brian Gellert is pleased with the arrival:
– Oliver is a player who has been on our list for a while, and we are very happy that it has succeeded in reaching an agreement with him. He is a player who, despite his relatively young age, brings a lot of experience, and we are always delighted when we can bring back an old youth player “home”. It is important for us to emphasize that Oliver has been on the list for a long time, and he is not intended as a reinforcement right now. First of all, we have to watch our money on our behalf, and secondly, Oliver has a contract in Kolding that must be completed, and we fully respect that.
– But we look forward to welcoming Oliver back to Helsingør, and until then we continue the work of assembling the squad for the upcoming half-season.
Oliver Drost joins on 1 July on a three-year contract.
