FC Helsingør have signed the 28-year-old defender Mikkel Knudsen from FC Fredericia. Mikkel Knudsen is moving to Helsingør with immediate effect.

Sporting director Brian Gellert is pleased with the signing:
– Mikkel has been on our list for some time, and now an opportunity arose to bring him in, and so we acted immediately. We are always working to strengthen the squad, and after Nicolai Geertsen has unfortunately been injured, it was even more important to bring someone in for the defence. Mikkel is a very skilled defender who can cover several positions, and is exactly the kind of experienced profile we would like to have in our squad. We have met Mikkel a few times as an opponent, where he has played for both Fredericia and Viborg, and he has always been a player who was difficult to play against.

For Mikkel Knudsen, there was not much to think about when FCH reached out:
– FC Helsingør have shown interest in me for some time, and since I wanted to play for a club closer to Copenhagen, it was a bit of a mix of several things that drew me in. FCH appealed to me as a team that plays good football, and that has a good squad both socially and competitively. The training level up here is high, and you have to be on your toes to play your way into the team.

– If I should describe myself, I can play both as a full-back and central defender, and my strengths are in combination play and build-up play, in addition to the defensive aspect. I am very happy to have been given the opportunity to come up here, and to become part of the squad.

Mikkel Knudsen has played for FC Fredericia in two spells, and has also played for Viborg FF, Næsby BK and Middelfart BK, and was originally developed at OB.
