FC Helsingør has brought the 29-year-old Frederik Helstrup to the club from Almere City FC, which plays in the second-highest Dutch division. Helstrup joins with immediate effect.

Head coach Morten Eskesen is pleased with the signing and says:

“We have been looking for an experienced center back after our captain Nikolaj Hansen stopped here in the summer. We have now found that in Frederik Helstrup. Frederik has been abroad for 8 years and comes with a lot of experience that can help us in the new season.
Frederik's arrival means that we are no longer so vulnerable at the center-back position in case of injuries, and we get healthy competition for that spot, as we do in the other positions”.

Frederik Helstrup spent his youth career at Lyngby BK and has played Superliga matches for AC Horsens. Since 2015, Frederik Helstrup has been abroad, where he played for our Swedish neighbors Helsingborg IF from 2015-2017. After that he spent time in Poland, where he played for Arka Gdynia in the top Polish division for 3 seasons. In the summer of 2020 Helstrup moved to Almere City FC in the second-highest Dutch division, before now moving to FC Helsingør.

On the move to FC Helsingør, Frederik Helstrup says:
“This is the absolutely right decision for me, to sign a contract with FC Helsingør. I am happy to be here and join the team for my first training match wearing the light blue and white shirt, and I cannot wait to start the season”.

Frederik Helstrup has signed a 2-year contract, which runs until the summer of 2024.

Welcome to Frederik.
