Goalkeeper Kevin Stuhr Ellegaard returns home to Denmark after many years abroad and joins FC Helsingør with immediate effect.
The former national team reserve will be part of the first team’s goalkeeping staff, as well as being part of the coaching team around the club’s young goalkeepers.
– I am extremely happy to have the opportunity to come to FC Helsingør and be part of the project that is being built here. I get the chance to work with the development of young people with a passion for football, but first and foremost I am fully focused on being a goalkeeper for the club. I have gathered some experience by now, but I still have plenty of love for football in me, says the 36-year-old goalkeeper at the signing of the contract.
Kevin Stuhr Ellegaard will be part of the young goalkeeping group, which includes Christoffer Petersen, Christoffer Monty and Frederik Rej-Rosenqvist. FCH’s sporting director, Brian Gellert, looks forward to seeing the goalkeeper with a CV from English, German, Danish and most recently Swedish top-flight football work within FC Helsingør’s setup both with the first team and in the youth department.
– We have gotten an opportunity to strengthen the city’s team with a major asset in the goalkeeper position, and he is a fantastic guy who fits perfectly into our club both personally and football-wise. He will work with both seniors and youth and thereby help create a red thread in the development of our club. Neither I nor our head of youth, Kenneth Rasmussen, had any doubt when the opportunity arose, says Brian Gellert.
