6. round of the NordicBet League took place here this evening, and FC Helsingør hosted rivals from Fremad Amager. FC Helsingør were to continue the good actions we witnessed at Sydbank Park just 3 days ago, when we won 4-0 against SønderjyskE.
FC Helsingør got off to the best start and broke through several times down the right side with good combinations from Alexander Lyng and Mikkel Knudsen, although without it becoming really dangerous.
Fremad Amager then bit back with two good shots from Christoffer Boateng, but both attempts were off target.
26 minutes had to be played before FC Helsingør really broke through. This time it was Oliver Drost who found Liam Jordan inside the box, who calmly placed a composed side-foot finish.
Just 4 minutes later, Nicklas Mouritsen got free on the left side and put a soft ball onto the forehead of the very same Liam Jordan, making it 2-0. Shortly before halftime he had the chance to complete a true hat-trick after fine combination play between Alexander Lyng and Oliver Drost, with the ball eventually landing in front of a free Liam Jordan. Unfortunately, the shot goes straight into the hands of Fremad Amager's goalkeeper.
The score at halftime is therefore 2-0
From the start of the second half the two teams were more evenly matched, but that did not last long. After 52 minutes of play, Callum McCowatt sends an excellent cross straight onto Alexander Lyng's left foot, who for the second game in a row gets on the scoresheet and makes it 3-0
From there Fremad Amager did not have many chances apart from a good breakthrough down the right side with a dangerous cross, which Mikkel Knudsen, however, clears off the line.
After 65 minutes FC Helsingør make a double substitution, with Oliver Drost and Callum McCowatt making way for Oliver Kjærgaard and Oliver Klitten respectively.
This would prove to be a smart move by coach Morten Eskesen. Because they only needed 10 minutes on the pitch before Oliver Klitten, from the byline, could send a good ball in to Oliver Kjærsgaard, who safely put it into the net for the final score 4-0.
The next match is the 2 round of the Cup, which is also played at Helsingør Stadion. It takes place on Wednesday, 24/8 at 18:00.
