FC Helsingør has extended the contract with U17- and U19-midfielder Alexander Lyng, who is simultaneously promoted to the first-team squad.

The 16-year-old player has impressed greatly in the youth ranks, and has trained with the first team on several occasions. He got playing time for the first team in Monday's training match against Helsingborg, and on Saturday he scored two goals when he played the full game in the 4-4 match against the Superliga relegation side from Lyngby,

Alexander Lyng himself is pleased with the new contract, and with playing in FCH:
– I think we have a strong environment, and a good sporting setup where I can develop. I have been welcomed really well in the first team, and have been guided well in how things are done and what I need to do. If I have to describe myself as a player, I am an attacking midfielder, technically good with both feet, and a dribbler who is calm in front of goal.

– My first goals now are to work on my explosiveness so I can become even faster. Then I need to get substitute appearances for the first team, and as quickly as possible become a player who is in contention to be a regular first-team player.

Sporting director Brian Gellert is delighted to secure Alexander Lyng for two more years:
– Alexander Lyng has trained here from the beginning of the new season, and has done exceptionally well. When someone does that, we look at quality rather than date of birth. When a player like Alexander comes and shows himself as he has done, and at the same time ranks right at the top of the physical tests, then you deserve your place in the first-team squad. Now we will steadily develop him into a senior player, and it is a big advantage to be here in Helsingør, where players like Alexander have the opportunity to attend school while also playing elite football. Our talent department has worked really well with Alexander, and he has a lot of tools with him, which we now need to further develop. But his match against Lyngby today, where he plays 90 brilliant minutes, and crowns them with two goals, says everything about the great talent he possesses.

Alexander Lyng scored 29 goals in 28 matches for the U17 and U19 teams last season.
