FC Helsingør have signed young Hjalte Petersen, who is also promoted from U19 to the senior squad. Hjalte Petersen has been part of FCH’s academy for just under four years, and has previously been through FC Nordsjælland’s youth department.

Hjalte Petersen is happy to get the opportunity to develop further with FC Helsingør’s first team:
I have trained with the first team since the start of the season, and I think the team has welcomed me enormously well. I have joined a strong goalkeeper group, and the experienced players on the team are really good at sharing their knowledge. It goes a little faster at senior level than I was used to, and you have to be there 100% every time to keep up, but I think it has gone well. Now I need to develop and build on my level, and work towards hopefully becoming the man of the future.

Sports director Brian Gellert is pleased to have put pen to paper with Hjalte Petersen:
Hjalte is another player who has come through our youth system and Helsingør Elite Sports Academy (HEA), and who has made it through the eye of the needle to the first team. Hjalte was set back by a knee injury, but has come back enormously strong, and has proven to the sporting management that he is a fantastic goalkeeper, and that he deserved the chance in the first team. Hjalte is a super guy, and very professional in his approach to football, and it is great that yet another of our young boys comes through the system in Helsingør.

Goalkeeping coach Simon Toftegaard Hansen is also happy to have yet another player in his team:
Hjalte is a reaction-strong, modern goalkeeper who is very strong in shot-stopping. He has good reflexes and is good in the game with his feet. It is clear that he has to improve, but he has the tools to develop further. Hjalte is also the result of the strong work the goalkeeping coaches do with the youth teams, so they also deserve a very big share of the credit for him now being attached to the first team.

Hjalte Petersen has initially signed a one-year contract, and will wear number 99.
