It was a cracking match when FC Helsingør kicked off the season with a brilliant game against Silkeborg, where FC Helsingør ultimately emerged victorious, despite Silkeborg making it exciting at the end with two goals in the closing stages.

Less than a minute had passed when Czajkowski burst down the right wing. He played the ball centrally to Jeppe Kjær, who was close to getting free, but at the last moment a saving Silkeborg foot got in the way.

But in the 8th minute Silkeborg could only look on as Jeppe Kjær got his name on the scoresheet in the most beautiful fashion. Kjær was brought down a meter outside the box, and the referee promptly blew for the free kick. Jeppe Kjær took the kick himself, and beautifully curled the ball around both wall and goalkeeper and into the net inside the right post. Beautiful, beautiful free-kick goal by Jeppe Kjær.
1-0 FC Helsingør

After 11 minutes Silkeborg then broke through up the middle. On the edge of the box, Anders Holst fouled a Silkeborg player. After a bit of discussion between linesman and referee, the referee chose to point to the spot. The TV images, however, showed that the tackle was outside the other side of the box, so the FCH players' protests were justified. But Emil Holten, who took the penalty for Silkeborg, placed his shot too centrally, and Kevin Stuhr Ellegaard was able to save with a foot stop, even though he had already moved to the side. Strong save by Kevin Sturhr.

In the 20th minute, FCH cleared a ball out of their own box after a Silkeborg attack. Eli Just carried the ball up the middle and found Jeppe Kjær with a through ball. Kjær cut across a few meters in front of the Silkeborg box and let fly, but his shot went a fair way over the goal. The match had been very even for the first 20 minutes, and three minutes later Kjær was close to finding Czajkowski with a good cross from the right, but Silkeborg's center backs were in the right place and headed clear right in front of the new man in the FCH attack.

But after 28 minutes it no longer worked for SIF's defense. A long ball was launched forward from FC Helsingør's central defense, and Jeppe Kjær ran in behind his man and around him. Kjær brought the ball down on the right side of the offside line, and then he was away one-on-one. When he reached the box, he waited for goalkeeper Oscar Hedwall's move, and cheekily chipped the ball over the onrushing goalkeeper.
2-0 FC Helsingør

After half an hour, Dalton Wilkins unfortunately got into a challenge with a Silkeborg player and fell awkwardly to the ground. The medical staff had to give the thumbs down, and Dalton had to go off, to be replaced by Philip Rejnhold, who came on for his home debut.

There were a few half-chances and plenty of battle in midfield, but neither team created 100 percent chances, and FC Helsingør could therefore go into halftime with a deserved 2-0 lead.

Only a single minute of the second half had been played before FCH were close to scoring the 3-0. Elijah Just, who was very lively on the day, dribbled in from the right side, was met by two Silkeborg players whom he managed to dribble past, and suddenly he was free on the right side of the Silkeborg box. Eli shot toward the far corner, but did not outsmart Oscar Hedwall, who managed to push the ball out into the box again with a good save. Lovely dribble run by Eli.

After 54 minutes Sebastian Czajkowski won a header on the left side and sent the ball on to Jeppe Kjær. Kjær made his trademark run across the box, where Silkeborg otherwise had plenty of players in place. But Kjær still managed to send a good shot back toward the far corner, though it went just wide.

Three minutes later Silkeborg got their best chance so far. A long ball forward found two Silkeborg strikers alone against Jonas Henriksen and Nikolaj Hansen. Henriksen got a touch, but the ball ran on to the next man, who was alone with Nikolaj Hansen. The two battled fiercely for the ball, but Nikolaj Hansen managed to bother his opponent enough for the ball to run out to the left side. There a Silkeborg player was ready, and he delivered a good cross into FCH's box, where one of Silkeborg's attackers rose highest and headed on goal. Kevin Stuhr was too close to react, but the ball sailed past the post.

But it was FC Helsingør who scored the next goal. In the 58th minute Oliver Kjærgaard received a ball a few meters outside the Silkeborg box and played a razor-sharp through ball into Carl Lange, who had moved in between friends and foes in the box. Lange had a defender standing almost on his toes, and his attempt at a finish was blocked. Instead the ball fell at the feet of Sebastian Czajkowski, who had moved in too, and he could easily slot the ball in at the base of the right post.
3-0 FC Helsingør

A little under ten minutes later, Eli Just was close to extending the lead. Once again it was Oliver Kjærgaard, who played a strong attacking game, who with a sharp through ball found an advancing Eli Just right at his feet on the left side. Eli went straight at goal and shot from the edge of the six-yard box, and only a brilliant save from Hedwall prevented Eli from getting on the scoresheet.

Five minutes later Silkeborg were that close. A sharp, flat diagonal pass into the FCH box reached substitute Wessam Ali, who, however, completely missed the ball, which curled just wide of goal. Huge chance for SIF.

After 82 minutes Silkeborg finally reaped the reward for their efforts, when Sebastian Jørgensen managed to tackle his way through on the edge of the FCH box. He freed himself, and with a single dribble he was ready to shoot. He sent a hard, accurate shot past a helpless Kevin Stuhr Ellegaard.
3-1 Silkeborg IF

And in added time Silkeborg just about managed to make it exciting when Mark Brink scored the 3-2 after a loose ball from a set piece fell to him in the box, and he just had to poke it in from close range.
3-2 Silkeborg IF

But if there was anyone in the stands who managed to break a sweat, it quickly passed. The minute after, Philip Rejnhold got the ball off his opponent outside Silkeborg's box. He took a few meters and then played an excellent curling pass of more than 40 meters forward to substitute David Boysen, who ran to the byline. There he delivered a sharp cross to Jeppe Kjær, who had just been named man of the match, but the sharp attacker was not done yet. He took a small touch in the box and hammered the ball into the roof of the net, sealing the game.
4-2 FC Helsingør

Shortly after, the referee blew the final whistle for an extremely well-played opening match, and FC Helsingør's players and fans could let the celebrations break loose. But already on Tuesday the work boots must be put on again, because then the next task awaits, when FCH visit Hvidovre.
