FC Helsingør has appointed Seref Aras as the new head of talent for the U teams on the girls’ side. After FCH this season chose to expand the youth department with girls’ football, the club has been looking for the right man to lead the initiative. After reviewing various candidates, the choice has fallen on the 40-year-old Seref Aras, who most recently held a similar position at Brøndby IF.

In addition to Brøndby, Seref has worked with both youth and senior football on the girls’ side at Boldklubben Heimdal, as well as in a collaboration between B93, BK Skjold and HIK. He has also been a youth coach at Helsingør IF some years back.

Seref Aras lives in Helsingør, and the position at FCH therefore came naturally.
– I chose to stop at Brøndby to have more time for my family, and then fairly quickly had ongoing talks with Janus Kyhl about the project up here, which is a perfect fit both geographically and in terms of ambitions. It is an exciting project, and I bring quite a bit of experience and a great love for girls’ football from elsewhere. First of all, we need to optimize the conditions and create a good training environment for the girls, and in the longer term the goal is for us to have both U18 and senior teams on the women’s side under the FC Helsingør umbrella. I am very much looking forward to getting started.

Director Janus Kyhl sees Seref Aras as the perfect man for the job:
– Seref is yet another strong piece in our “talent puzzle” up here, and he brings a lot of experience in the field from other clubs. Together with the hiring of Kenneth Rasmussen on the boys’ side, and the already very strong team we have up here, it is a signal that we do not compromise on our ambitions in the talent area. We are in full swing building a very strong talent environment that gradually covers most of North Zealand, and Seref and girls’ football are to be part of the foundation for a strong FC Helsingør side both on the talent and senior side in the future.
