It is with a heavy heart that we can announce today that the incident at Helsingør Stadium during yesterday's match against Næstved involved an incredibly valued and significant member of the FC Helsingør family.
Tom Lund Ewald passed away after feeling unwell and subsequently suffering a cardiac arrest.
The circumstances are tragic and everyone involved is deeply affected and extends their thoughts to Tom's closest family, including his wife and three children, one of whom, his son Christian, was present at the stadium as he was filling in as the stadium announcer.
Tom was surrounded by friends and family and left us in his very own spirit. He worked for the club he loved and, of course, he also left this way in connection with a football match at Helsingør Stadium.
Tom started as a volunteer for 13 years ago and was later employed as a jack-of-all-trades. The tasks were many, including maintenance work at the stadium, serving and clearing away after the players' meals, and much, much more.
We will miss Tom's always contagious sense of humor. Whether it was during matches, when he served in the lounge together with his always loyal sidekick Carsten, or in everyday life, where he was always ready with a helping hand.
FC Helsingør has lost an important team player who always put the club first.
May Tom's memory be honored
