On Saturday, FC Helsingør hosted Middelfart Boldklub.
The sun shone beautifully over the stadium, and the stage was set for a fine
football afternoon.

However, things quickly went the wrong way when Middelfart had already taken the lead after eight minutes of play.
A cold slap in the face for Helsingør, who fortunately reacted quickly and regained control of the match. Robert Marcus hit the post after twenty minutes, and ten minutes later Oliver Drost found himself in a one-on-one situation, where he was brought down on the edge of the box. A free kick for Helsingør and a straight red card for the Middelfart player was the result. Drost took the chance himself, but shot narrowly wide of the right post.

The numerical advantage meant that FC Helsingør changed the setup in midfield, and Dimitri Kassekar was substituted in favor of Tobias Augustinus.
Halftime approached, and although Helsingør had most of the ball after the sending-off, the teams went into the break with the score 0-1 to the visitors.

The second half continued in the same pattern with possession in Helsingør’s favor. Middelfart made three substitutions, but Helsingør maintained the pressure.
After an hour of play, Hjalte Lærke had the chance to equalize, but once again luck was not on our side. Fresh legs were sent onto the pitch as Thomas Basbøll and Hjalte Lærke were replaced by Souheib Dhaflaoui and Emil Morgan.
Shortly after, luck finally turned, as Tobias Elmelund got hold of the ball in the six-yard box and brought things level.
Towards the end of the match, Helsingør increased the pressure and created several big chances that could have secured the win.
With five minutes left, head coach Pep Alomar tried to bring even more pace into the game by bringing on Nikolaj Bagger in place of Sebastian Slettegaard, who had shortly before received the match’s first yellow card.

Unfortunately, the effort was not enough to secure the win, and for the second game in a row the scoreboard showed 1-1 at Helsingør Stadion at the final whistle.

The results of the round have made the middle of the table completely open, as there are only three points between 4. place and 10. place.
Already on Friday we can take an important step toward a top-6 position before the winter break, when we face the league’s bottom team, Nykøbing FC.
Thank you to all sponsors and the fans who showed up for the support this Saturday afternoon.
