It will be a man with a major profile in Danish division football who takes over FC Helsingør’s U19 team. It will namely be the former Frem and B93 head coach Danny Jung, who will be in charge of the club’s oldest talents going forward.
Head of FCH Academy, Kenneth Rasmussen, states:
– As a club, FC Helsingør has great ambitions, and one of them is to develop players from our own academy to the club’s first team. Skilled coaches are a very important part of being able to fulfill this ambition.
– The step from youth to senior, or the transition as it is now called, is one of the most decisive changes for a young football player. In order to support our players in this phase, it is therefore very important to have coaches who have the competence and experience to integrate youth players into a first team. Danny has shown this competence and experience in his years as head coach at several 2 division teams, where he has both shown very good development results, and at the same time a great interest in getting young players involved at senior level.
– Overall, Danny comes to us with great coaching experience, where he has after all been active at the highest level for many years as, among other things, head coach for Frem, as well as at B93 over two periods, and in addition nearly 10 years in the DBU around the girls’ youth national teams. This, together with his many seasons in the country’s top football leagues as a player, gives him the ballast we are looking for to get even more of our youth players involved with our first team, and at the same time pass on learning to the rest of our talented youth coaches
– Danny also comes with a P-coach licence, which is the highest coaching education in UEFA. Therefore, it is with great pleasure and pride that the club can present Danny Jung as the new U19 Head Coach.
Danny Jung gets Jacob Wedell as his assistant coach. Jacob is locally known and has previously played both for Helsingør IF and for Elite 3000, as FC Helsingør was called then. Here he was, among other things, part of helping the first team win promotion to 2 division. In addition, he has also played for BSV and Allerød. Jacob brings coaching experience primarily from senior level, and is a very competent coaching profile.
Danny Jung says himself:
– I was happy when FC Helsingør contacted me, and I have got a really good impression of the club from my visits and talks with the management. The ambition to strengthen youth development, and in time deliver even more players to – hopefully – 1. Division, is an exciting project that I feel equipped to help with. I am very much looking forward to getting started and meeting my players and coaching colleagues.
