FC Helsingør have brought in former Næstved and Brøndby player Daniel Norouzi to the club with immediate effect. The versatile left-footer joins on a one-year deal.

Sporting director Brian Gellert has had Norouzi on his radar for some time:
– An opportunity suddenly came up and Daniel is a player we have had on our list for quite a few years now, so we just had to seize it. He is a versatile player who covers many positions, and he has an excellent winning mentality. I am sure that he will be a huge asset to us as I see him as a player who fits perfectly into our squad, both on and off the pitch.

Daniel Norouzi himself had his first training session this morning and had a smile on his face when we spoke to him afterwards.
– Helsingør came with a good offer, and I wanted to stay on Zealand so I could combine school and work with my football. I am a very versatile player who can cover many positions, and although I have played central midfield for the last couple of seasons, I can also cover the wings and both full-back positions. That has probably also been a factor in FC Helsingør’s interest in me.

It was an exciting project I was presented with, and I strongly expect us to get promoted. It must not be dangerous to say out loud that we need to go back up, and someone has to take on the role of favourite. We have one of the strongest squads in 2. division, and it will probably be strengthened further before we start.

I played with Næstved in 2. Division, and it actually turned out to be an advantage for the club in many ways. It gave us some ballast because we won a lot of matches, and it made it possible to give playing time to quite a few young players as well. That was clearly a contributing factor to the good season we had at Næstved this year.
