FC Helsingør immediately strengthens the central midfield with the 21-year-old Christian ”TK” Kähler, who joins from FC Nordsjælland.

TK is a true ”8’er”, or box-to-box midfielder, who is guaranteed to put in a huge amount of work and has a disciplined approach to life as a professional footballer, and director Janus Kyhl gets one of the players from his wish list:
– There have been several other clubs that have been interested in ”TK”, so we see it as a real scoop that TK chose us. We see TK as a perfect match for us, and he is a player who has been on our list for a long time. He can strengthen us both on and off the pitch, and raise the bar, as he has a very professional approach to his football. And on top of that, he is local, as he is a true Hørsholm boy, so he grew up practically around the corner from the club.

It is a smiling ”TK” who takes a seat at FC Helsingør:
– I come here with the hope that I will be a key force, and hopefully get a bigger role than I have had over the last six months in Nordsjælland. But it is not just the playing time, but also the fact that I think Helsingør plays good football, that has weighed heavily in my considerations. I can add some Superliga experience to the team, despite my young age, and I see myself as a ball-secure player who wants to be a leader on the pitch. I’m probably not the one to dribble past two men, but I have some strengths in leading a team, and in being able to set up the others and make them better.

Head coach Christian Lønstrup:
– We are getting a skilled and ball-secure central midfielder, who was a standout player in Nordsjælland. Since we sold Vito (Hammershøj-Mistrati, ed.) we have been looking for a replacement in midfield, and TK was the top priority for that position, as he is probably close to the top of what we can realistically bring in from Denmark. He is a big, young talent who can bring both ball security and leadership qualities to our midfield, and it is very positive that after a longer process we have succeeded in landing him.

Christian ”TK” Kähler has played 27 matches in the Superliga for FCN and scored one goal, and has signed a two-year contract with FC Helsingør.
