Head coach Christian Lønstrup has chosen to resign from his position at FC Helsingør with immediate effect.

Director Janus Kyhl has the following comment on the resignation:
– Christian and the club have reached a point where we no longer feel that we are on the same path in terms of where the club and football should go. There have been some disagreements about what the playing style and squad composition should be. Therefore, Christian has chosen to resign from his position at FC Helsingør and seek new challenges.

We are sad to see Christian leave us. More than anyone, he has been the figurehead for the progress FC Helsingør has made over the last handful of years, and he has been a highly skilled and dedicated coach for us, who has also enjoyed a very high reputation among our fans and sponsors, but that said, we share Christian's assessment that perhaps it is time to bring in fresh energy in the coaching position and new eyes on the project.

We would like to thank Christian Lønstrup for his time at FC Helsingør, and the huge effort he has put into his work here. He will always have a special place with us.

Outgoing head coach Christian Lønstrup:
– It has been eight fantastic years, where we have written history together, and it has been a fantastic and unforgettable journey. I would like to thank the many players I have worked with over the years, and the entire staff around the team. I have had a good collaboration with the club's management, and would like to send thanks to chairman Finn Moseholm and director Janus Kyhl for good cooperation and sparring over the years. A special thanks I would like to send to the fans, who have grown with the club over the years, and who have supported us through thick and thin.

I wish FC Helsingør all the best going forward, and they will always have a place in my heart.

Training is for now taken over by U-19 coach Marc Thevis and assistant coach Brian Gellert, who will remain at the club, and the staff continues unchanged.

All inquiries regarding the resignation should be directed to director Janus Kyhl.
