Following a period of unsatisfactory results, FC Helsingør has decided to end the collaboration with head coach Peter Feher.
Director Janus Kyhl on the decision:
– It is very regrettable. We have experienced a deeply professional and committed effort from Peter’s side, and if we look at our training environment and the staff’s work, he has through his short period at the club lifted this enormously. But we also have to look at the results, and here it simply has not been good enough. One can always discuss where the responsibility lies, but in a football club it is ultimately placed on the head coach’s shoulders.
– I also expect our players to look at themselves carefully in the mirror and pull themselves together in their pride for the rest of the season. Peter and his work have been hugely appreciated by our players and staff, and the best way they can now repay him is by going out and securing the club’s survival in the NordicBet Liga.
– I would like to thank Peter for his great efforts in FCH. There is no one who has worked day to day in the club who doubts that Peter is an extremely skilled football coach, and I am sure there is no one more disappointed than him that he did not succeed in unlocking the squad’s potential.
Peter Feher sends a final greeting to the club and fans:
– Thank you to everyone in and around the club. And thank you to the fans for the support both away and at home. I am sorry on everyone’s behalf that we did not get the points we should have gotten. It’s a pity, and I still believed it could be achieved, but that’s football. I wish everyone the best of luck in the final matches of the season, and with the whole mission. I am sure it will end well.
The head coach position will be handled for the rest of the season by FC Helsingør’s head scout in the USA, Omid Namazi.
Omid Namazi has most recently coached the Iranian top club Zob Ahan SC, and has been head coach of the American U18 national team, assistant coach for the American U20 national team, as well as assistant coach for the American women’s national team. Namazi was furthermore assistant coach under Carlos Quieroz when the Spaniard qualified Iran’s national team for the World Cup in Brazil in 2014.
Apart from Peter Feher, the rest of the staff remains unchanged.
