FC Helsingør’s Brazilian striker Matheus Leiria married his childhood sweetheart Kauana Tavares in a simple ceremony at Helsingør Town Hall on Monday morning. The wedding was officiated by FCH’s own director, Janus Kyhl, who could make his debut as an officiant thanks to his newly won position as a city council member.
Several of the teammates were also present, so the young couple could be sent off properly with a “ball-espalier”
In the absence of Kauana’s girlfriends, the teammates also stepped in as “bouquet catchers,” and Andreas Holm used his height and winning instinct to seize the bouquet. Director Kyhl’s next wedding, perhaps?
