At the end of last week, the youth department held physical tests for the youth teams from U15 up to U19. First, all players had their height, weight and body fat percentage measured before they were sent to the training pitch, where the club's physical coach Casper Skovgaard measured each player's jumping power and top speed in sprinting, before the feared “beep test”, where the players run until they reach their maximum.
The players were in fine shape, and there were smiles on their faces during the trials, which this year were measured with completely new electronic measuring equipment, sponsored by club sponsor C Rail Safety.
U19 coach Marc Thevis was very pleased with the possibilities the new equipment gives the club.
– The equipment gives us a lot of data on each player, so we can optimize training even more for the individual player, to the benefit of both the player and the team. And it’s great that Casper Skovgaard is involved, so we can strengthen the ties between the senior department and the youth teams to an even greater extent. Now we get a lot of data that we need to go home and look at, and which gives us some focal points we can work on further, so they are a nice extra tool to have in the “toolbox”.
